The Universal Parallel Computing Research Center at the University of Illinois is a joint research initiative of the Department of Computer Science and the Coordinated Science Laboratory, with faculty support from the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering.

The 5 year $18 million center encompasses research, seminars, and a summer educational program.

The center is funded through a $10 million commitment by Microsoft and Intel and an $8 million commitment from the University of Illinois.

Research for the center is conducted in the Thomas M. Siebel Center for Computer Science and the Coordinated Science Laboratory.
