ParaPLoP 2009 Offers Workshop on Parallel Programming Patterns
March 28, 2009
By: Cheri Helregel
Programmers and patterns enthusiasts are invited to submit a paper for ParaPLoP 2009, a PLoP-style workshop on parallel programming patterns to be held June 4-5, 2009 in Santa Cruz, California. Papers can:
- describe one or more patterns
- outline a pattern language
- analyze previously published patterns
- describe case studies of using patterns to develop parallel software
- present experience mining patterns from significant parallel code implementations.
Much like PLoP, ParaPLoP will be organized as a set of writer's workshops. Moreover, submissions will usually be revised before they are accepted. Each submission will be assigned to a shepherd, who will help the author make revisions to increase the likelihood of acceptance. The submission site opens February 15, and the last date for submission will be May 11, 2009. Papers should be less than 15 pages. The only exceptions will be papers on pattern languages, in which case authors will need to select a subsection small enough to review. Submissions will receive a final determination within 1-2 days.
ParaPLoP 2009 is being organized by the Universal Parallel Computing Research Centers (UPCRCs) at Illinois and Berkeley. Both UPCRCs are funded by the Intel and Microsoft corporations.
